First, check your current IP with our IP lookup tool so you can verify it changed after trying one of these methods.

Method 1: Use a VPN (Fastest, Most Reliable)

A VPN instantly replaces your real IP with the VPN server's IP address. This is the fastest and most effective way to change your IP — and it works on every device.

Download and install a VPN app (we recommend NordVPN).
Open the app and connect to a server in any country.
Visit our IP lookup tool to verify your IP has changed.

Your IP will show the VPN server's location instead of yours. Disconnect the VPN to revert to your real IP.

Method 2: Restart Your Router

If you have a dynamic IP address (most home connections do), restarting your router may get you a new IP from your ISP.

Unplug your router from power.
Wait 5 minutes (longer increases the chance of getting a new IP — some people wait overnight).
Plug it back in and wait for it to reconnect.
Check your IP on our tool to see if it changed.

This doesn't always work — your ISP may reassign the same IP. But it's free and easy to try.

Method 3: Switch Between Wi-Fi and Mobile Data

Your Wi-Fi and cellular connections have completely different IP addresses. Simply toggling between them gives you a different public IP instantly.

Method 4: Toggle Airplane Mode (Mobile)

On your phone, turning Airplane Mode on and off forces your carrier to assign a new IP address to your mobile data connection. This is essentially the mobile equivalent of restarting your router.

Method 5: Contact Your ISP

You can call your ISP and request a new IP address. They can usually do this remotely. Some ISPs also offer static IP addresses for an additional monthly fee if you need a permanent, specific IP.
